Commonly searched for in Tulsa. River Spirit Casino just opened a beautiful event center. Went there last night to watch Don Henley.
Once inside Paradise Cove all is well. However, what an epic fail on the part of the casino. I had to stand in line for 45 minutes in the smoking section of the casino to get into the event center. My eyes were burning and my throat was scratchy. Should not have had to enter the smoking section at all. Hasn't this place heard the surgeon general's warning about second hand smoke?
Concert goers should not have to stand in a smoke filled room. Poor judgement call. We went to the first concert at newly opened Paradise Cove (event center) and stayed at the hotel. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful from valet, registration, bell hop, etc. The rooms are new, nice and comfortable, although a little extra soundproofing would be nice. There is a good size non smoking section of the casino which I really appreciated. The Event Center was very nice with good acoustics.
Chairs weren't great but overall a great venue for concerts. There was some miscommunication at Will Call about the Meet & Greet we had through the artist's fan club, but I realize it was the first concert so hopefully they will work out the kinks in the future-I spent a lot of time standing in line and although the staff was friendly, no one had any answers. It all worked out ok, but was a little frustrating. Nice concessions inside the event center. We had a great time and I would definitely some back.
Let me first say the casino is fantastic, I have been coming here a long time and they have made major improvements. I am reviewing my stay at the hotel not the casino itself. First thing the clerk at the desk double booked our room, we went to our room only to find other people's belongings in the room not so much a big deal for us as they fixed it quickly but how would that person feel if the knew strangers were in their room free to take and rummage through their things when they believe their belongings were safe? Onto the room that was actually ours., we stayed on the fifth floors and my view is obscured by a wall and I front of the wall is the building ventilation system but as seeing your here for the casino the view isn't a great big deal and if that is for you the river isn't much to look at as it is dried up.
Our bathroom was not supplied with toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner etc. The beds are cheap but they served their purpose. The rooms are very bland, I was expecting something themed like the hard rock hotel 15-20 min drive away but no theme very bland., this is margaritaville am I right? The hard rock your rooms decorated with the same theme as the rest of the casino with guitars and very rockstar style. If I was just passing through town on my way somewhere else then I would say this La Quinta theme/style room is fine but as being what it is I expected more.
Overall did I enjoy my stay? Yes only because they gave me the room for free. If I had paid the 200.00 for the basic room I'd probably be very livid. P.S the coffee maker only works in the bathroom so you have to take it from the table by the tv to the plug in the bathroom.
